Information you provide

You can browse without an account. When you register, we collect your name, email address, country, date of birth, password and newsletter or marketing choices. Passwords are stored as a one-way hash, rather than readable text. We also store the teams, leagues and Home layout you save to your account.

We use account information to create and manage your account, provide your saved experience, respond to requests and administer the service. Newsletter and marketing choices record whether you want those communications. If you contact us, we receive the information in your message. Registration fields are required to create an account; browsing as a guest remains available.

Browser storage and technical information

Your browser stores guest favourites, layout choices, dismissed prompts, filters and sign-in information so the site remembers your choices. Clearing site data removes browser-saved preferences and may sign you out. Account preferences remain on our servers until changed or deleted.

Our hosting and service providers process technical request information, such as IP address, browser details and request logs, to deliver and protect the site. A country inferred from your connection, or browser region, helps select available highlights. Kick-off times use your browser’s time zone. We record account activity from successful logins and authenticated requests.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand visits and improve the site. It can use cookies and similar identifiers and collect page views, interactions, session information, device and browser details, referral information and approximate location. Our site code does not send your account name, email, date of birth or password to Google Analytics, or set an account-linked Analytics User-ID.

You can control cookies through your browser and use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking analytics does not prevent you from browsing WAR. Google explains its handling of information at policies.google.com/privacy and policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Embedded videos and service providers

Highlights are provided by third parties, including YouTube and Dailymotion. Loading an embedded player can send your IP address, browser information and page context to that provider, which may use cookies or other storage under its own policies. YouTube players use the privacy-enhanced embed domain where supported. Provider restrictions and privacy practices still apply.

We use hosting, database, analytics and email providers to operate WAR, including Vercel, Railway and Google. Information may be processed outside New Zealand. We share information as needed to provide the service, handle your requests, protect it from abuse or meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

Retention, security and your choices

Account information and preferences are retained while your account is active. You can update your details or delete your account in Your WAR. Account deletion removes the account and associated preferences from the active account database. Previously delivered emails, operational logs and backups may remain separately until deleted or replaced; deletion is not an instant purge of every copy.

We use measures including password hashing, authenticated access to account features and restricted access to reporting credentials. No internet service can guarantee complete security. Do not share your password.

You can request access to or correction of your personal information, ask about retention, or request deletion by contacting us. We may need to verify your identity. We consider requests subject to applicable legal requirements. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first; you can also contact the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

We update this policy when our practices change and show the current revision date above. Material changes to Google data access require a fresh authorisation where applicable.
